What We Do

The Talent Development Coalition (TDC) bridges the gap between candidates seeking career pathways and high-demand employers across key growth sectors. We connect candidates with structured learning plans, hands-on training, and direct employment opportunities in skilled trades, construction, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and technical fields.

Working alongside school counselors, workforce boards, local government agencies, and industry leaders, TDC helps high school students, young adults, and career-seekers gain the skills, credentials, and mentorship required to secure living-wage positions.

Our comprehensive framework equips candidates with scholarships, stipends, toolkits, and certification support to eliminate financial barriers that often keep talented individuals from completing career training.

Our Commitment

We support and stand for Equity and Economic Justice.

Talent is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not. TDC actively identifies and invests in high-quality candidates from under-represented backgrounds who represent a vital, untapped segment of our economy's workforce. By breaking down economic barriers, we ensure every citizen has equitable access to high-paying, sustainable careers.

Strategic Framework

The Four Campaign Pillars of TDC

Empowering neighborhoods, supporting family stability, and fostering multi-generational economic advancement.

Empowered Citizens

Equal Justice

Removing systematic obstacles, ensuring fair workplace access, and delivering economic justice for all.

Foundational Vision
“Imagine a community whose young adults were debt free, financially stable, highly-skilled, and desiring to give back. That’s the community we are trying to build.”

Consortium History

30+ Member Organizations Serving Together.

The Talent Consortia is the cornerstone of our workforce preparation model. We bring together stakeholders across business, education, government, and non-profit sectors in formal, outcome-driven partnerships to identify precise skill gaps and engineer solutions that close those gaps rapidly.

TDC was originally formed as a dedicated community initiative under Habitat for Humanity as fiduciary agent. Started under the visionary leadership of Pastor Carlton Jones in partnership with The Greater Pontiac Community Coalition (GPCC) and The Committee of 50, TDC has grown into a powerful consortium of over 30 member organizations.

Our focus centers on short-term and long-term career pipeline programs that enable young adults (typically ages 18–29, but open to all residents) to achieve rapid credentialing and placement into high-salary, high-demand professions.

Meet our Discovery Team.

TDC's navigators — like Carlton Jones at CarNav Group — are the people who walk every candidate and every employer partner through the pathway above. Their profiles are being finalized for publication here.

TODO(copy): Discovery Team roster pending client confirmation. Per the 2026-08-04 remediation directive, this is explicitly not the same group as the retired six-person leadership grid from the legacy site — do not populate until TDC confirms who belongs on the Discovery Team.
